Gyms packed as New Year's resolutions are put into action

Plenty of gyms in Brooklyn were expected to be packed with people during the first week of January, including the Blink Fitness in Boerum Hill.



January marks the busiest month of the year for the gym, but that spike in numbers typically fizzles out after several weeks.



Blink Fitness director Peter Jenkins says the numbers drop by almost half by February. University of Scranton research shows that just 8 percent of people achieve their New Year's goal.



To stay true to your goals, trainers suggest a workout plan that is realistic and can be easily maintained.
