Brownsville advocacy group moves into new hub

A Brownsville advocacy group is settling into its new home at a so-called innovation hub on Belmont Avenue.

The group Made in Brownsville made the move in December from its former offices on the fourth floor of the Greg Jackson Center. Its new offices are ground level.

"This base is like a huge step in building out this vision for the community," says Quardean Lewis. "Getting our young people engaged in creating promotional material and campaigns for awareness and advertising for other businesses along the corridor."

But although Lewis sees potential in the new home, much of the space has not yet been renovated. Lewis says the group is looking to the community to help shape how the rest of the space gets overhauled.
