2-alarm fire breaks out inside East Flatbush hair salon

A two-alarm fire broke out inside a Brooklyn hair salon Tuesday, according to fire officials.

The fire started inside a salon on St. Paul's Place near Church Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

The fire quickly spread up to several floors above, and firefighters secured ladders from an engine to try and contain the blaze.

Officials say it doesn't appear the fire spread to surrounding buildings, but a building next door to the salon was evacuated as a precaution.

Officials say there were no serious injuries.

The fire also caused major traffic back-ups in the area, officials say.

Traffic has since returned to normal, and the fire has been put out.

Officials say the investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
