Commuters brave frigid cold in Canarsie

Commuters in Canarsie were bundled a little tighter Monday amid freezing cold temperatures that continued to grip the city.

The temperature dipped to 15 degrees at daybreak, as light winds dropped the wind chill to feel like 1 degree.

Slush that turned to frozen ice blanketed the streets and sidewalks of Brooklyn, making for a slippery commute for some.

A warm front is expected to move into the region by mid-week, according to News 12 forecasters.
