2 men accused of trying to lure children into van with candy in Brooklyn

Two men are accused of trying to lure a young girl and boy into a van by offering them candy in Brooklyn, according to police.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, police say two men driving a light-colored minivan approached a 12-year-old boy on Hewes Street and Williamsburg Street East and attempted to lure him inside the vehicle using candy.

The men allegedly spoke Yiddish and told the boy they had lollipops.

The 12-year-old boy, who ran home after the incident, reported it to police. According to police, the boy told them that the suspects also approached a 12-year-old girl and attempted to lure her inside their van, but she kept walking.

The men are described as being clean shaven and wearing flat caps.
