Fire tears through Ocean Parkway building

A fire tore through a building on Ocean Parkway Monday morning.

The flames broke out around 11:30 a.m. at 1755 Ocean Parkway in Midwood.

Officials say it took about 30 minutes, 12 trucks and 60 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

Two people -- a firefighter and a resident -- were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. They're both expected to be OK.

There is no official word yet on a cause, but residents tell News 12 that the fire started in a kitchen on the third floor.
