Kids compete to perform at Chinese Lunar New Year
Dozens of children competed Saturday for a chance to perform at the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration in a few weeks.
Boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 13 were in Sunset Park to show off their best traditional Chinese costume in front of judges.
It's part of the Chinese American Planning Council Brooklyn Community Services Lunar New Year Celebration on Feb. 11.
Only 20 children were selected to perform at the celebration. Each child was judged based on creativity, outfit and presentation.
Organizers say each finalist had a chance to win anywhere from $100 to $300.
