Rain, high winds, waves batter Coney Island

Coney Island saw heavy rain, high winds and rumbling waves during Monday's nor'easter.

Area residents told News 12 they were doing their best to stay warm and dry.

City officials recommended that residents keep their cellphones charged in case of power outages. They also urged people to keep a distance from any downed power lines.

The New York City Office of Emergency Management issued a high wind warning and coastal flood advisory through Tuesday morning.
