City offering free tax prep service

Tax season is here, and the city is offering its NYC Free Tax Prep service to qualifying residents.

Naomi Chappelle, a retiree from Williamsburg, was at Borough Hall Monday taking advantage of the free service, saying she wants to get back every cent possible. Other sites are available throughout the city.

Those filing for tax returns are reminded to bring a form of ID, such as a Social Security card or driver's license, and W2 forms.

Any individual or household earning less than $64,000 a year can file using the city's free service.
