Students perform as presidents for school lesson

Holy Angels Catholic Academy students took on the role of past U.S. presidents as part of a school lesson Wednesday.

Students researched the lives and created costumes of 14 presidents, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Franklin D. Roosevelt. They also had to memorize and deliver a speech in character.

While learning about the political process, students had to create their own campaign posters. Teacher Russell Berry says the posters would be adorned to the hallway for a vote to decide which president students liked the best.

Berry also says school alumni have returned with seemly more knowledge of presidential history than their high school peers.
