Justice Sotomayor speaks at St. Francis College

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor returned to New York today to speak at St. Francis College.

She encouraged students to work hard and follow their dreams, using her own story as an example.

Sotomayor, the first Hispanic to sit on the Supreme Court, grew up in housing projects. Students said they couldn't help but be inspired.

"She's just an inspiration - Latina woman strong and powerful," said Adriannah Rodriguez.

A college spokesperson told News 12 that it was the largest student turnout for an event other than graduation.
