Gravesend students raise money for sick children

Four teams of Gravesend middle school students raised money for sick children during an event Friday night.

The project started a few months ago at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy.

The goal was to raise money for four children facing life-threatening diseases, including a brain tumor, leukemia and Lyme disease.

Students were placed into teams, each representing the four children.

They managed to raise more than $9,000 for the afflicted children's families.
