Brownsville Matters brings art to Langston Hughes Houses

Residents in Brownsville will have a lot more to look at for the next several months.

Brownsville Matters, an art exhibit featuring artwork of 11 artists from East Brooklyn, is on display at the Langston Hughes Houses.

NYCHA collaborated with ArtBridge, a public arts organization, and other groups to bring the art exhibit to Brownsville.

Many of the art pieces reflect Brownsville's cultural identity.

The New York City Housing Authority says teaming up with ArtBridge was the perfect project because it allows their residents to connect with the community.
