Firefighters battle house fire in Cypress Hills

Firefighters battled a house fire on Van Siclen Court in Cypress Hills Tuesday morning.

They say the fire seems to have started in the basement and spread to the first floor.

The fire chief says they were able to put the fire out quickly, but there were difficulties.

"This was a very isolated block, so getting our members up here stretching the lines -- it was a little bit of a task to get up here, and also we had a different address given to us at first," says Deputy Chief Stephen Moro, of FDNY Division 15.

No one appeared to be home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
