Volunteers spread message of ‘One New York’

Dozens of volunteers spent Wednesday morning handing out pamphlets in Muslim communities to spread a message of "One New York."

They say their aim was to get information out about services available to New Yorkers regardless of their immigration status, and to spread awareness about scams currently out there.

The One New York Day of Action participants say events like this pave the way for how the city will operate and handle immigration concerns.

City leaders say for those who are concerned but don't know who to get help from, they can call 311 and be connected to the right organization.
