Brooklyn’s Best Hardware tells customers to prepare for snow

A Mill Basin hardware store told Brooklyn residents to stock up on shovels, window scrapers and road salt ahead of Thursday's snow.



Brooklyn's Best Hardware and Locksmith owner Alan Butrico says calcium chloride salt melts snow without corroding sidewalks.



Because of that, he stocks his shop with up to 130,000 pounds of it before each snowstorm.



Other overlooked items people may want to buy are hand warmers, Butrico said.
