Mother: Sons were assaulted at P.S. 13
A Brooklyn mother of three boys says two of her sons were assaulted at their school.
Imani Bradshaw says the boys, who attend P.S. 13, were assaulted in separate incidents.
Bradshaw claims one child was assaulted by a para-professional and had his head slammed into a chair and that another was assaulted by a teacher.
She says the third child, her 4-year-old, was left unattended and managed to leave the school and cross a street alone until police found him.
Bradshaw says she is outraged that no charges have been filed.
The Department of Education responded to Bradshaw's allegations saying, "Safety always comes first. These incidents were immediately reported and school staff followed protocol in taking the necessary follow-up actions. One of the incidents was investigated and was deemed unsubstantiated, and another incident was referred for investigation. Principal Cameron has met with this parent to address concerns on multiple occasions, and is working closely with DOE central staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students."
Bradshaw says she wants justice for her sons and also wants the Department of Education to approve a school transfer for the kids.
