Downtown Brooklyn bar offers warm welcome after snow

A lot of Brooklyn families went out for a hot meal Thursday night as bitter cold lingered and the city continued to dig out of a wave of snow.

At the Myrtle and Gold Bar and Restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn, customers gathered inside the cozy atmosphere to ward off the cold and relax after stressful commutes, long work days and a mess of slush and snow.

"I just needed to wind down after work," says Kimberly Desanges, who was visiting the restaurant for the first time. "You feel at home, so I love it."
