Man charged in killing of Rikers Island corrections officer

Police have made an arrest in the death of off-duty Rikers Island corrections officer Alastasia Bryan.

The officer's ex-boyfriend Keon Richmond, 35, is facing murder and other charges.

Police believe Richmond opened fire on Bryan two months ago as she sat in her car near Avenue l and East 73rd Street.

Richmond was taken into custody days after Bryan's death for another crime. Police questioned him in her death, but he was not placed under arrest until today.

A $20,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
