Slippery conditions remain as borough deals with storm’s aftermath
A day after snow blanketed the borough, Brooklyn residents are trying to clear the mess left behind.
Residents are having a difficult time shoveling their cars out of the snow now that the snow has turned hard.
Storeowners have been trying to make their sidewalks safe by spreading salt.
The Department of Sanitation says it is putting all its energy into snow cleanup, but despite those efforts, neighbors say it's dangerous getting around. They say slippery conditions on the sidewalks have made it difficult to walk.
People in the area say they are reapplying salt on the sidewalk outside their homes every few hours and are hopeful the snow will melt away by Saturday morning.
