Sheepshead Bay students create app to help with insomnia

Young inventors in Sheepshead Bay are creating an app to try and help people get better sleep.

Students at the Bay Academy say insomnia is no fun and that is why they created the Dreamz app. The app will emit delta waves from a person's cellphone at their bedside, and these waves will help for a deeper sleep.

The app just won the students best in state in the Verizon Innovative Learning App Challenge.

The middle school students are in a crucial stage of the contest called the 'Fan Favorite,' and they need the public's vote.

To vote for the Dreamz app, text ngineer to 23333. The deadline to vote is Tuesday at midnight.

The students say they want to win so they can go to Florida to develop the app with MIT professionals.
