Fire rips through Clinton Hill restaurant

At least 100 firefighters spent Tuesday morning responding to a restaurant fire on Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill.

Officials say the ceiling of the Putnam's Pub dining hall went up in flames around 11 a.m.

Fire Chief Fred Sehaaf says the fire was especially difficult to clear due to the height and the amount of soundproofing and sheetrock on the ceiling.

News 12 is told that despite the damage, there weren't any injuries.

Residents say Putnam's is a neighborhood staple with great service. Many have now been turned away from making Valentine's Day reservations.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
