De Blasio announces $136M to lift filmmakers, clothes manufacturing

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a $136 million investment in some vacant buildings for fashion designers and filmmakers at Industry City in Sunset Park Tuesday.

The Bush Terminal will become the Made in NY Manufacturing Campus.

"Starting in 2020, this whole area will come alive," the mayor said. "You're going to see jobs created -- starting then in these fields: in film, in TV, in garment manufacturing."

De Blasio predicted 1,500 permanent jobs as a result.
