Sources: NYPD sergeant likely shot, killed himself

An NYPD sergeant died Thursday after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Van Cortlandt Village near the Jerome Park Reservoir, according to a source.



The call came in around 2 p.m. on Sedgwick Avenue, according to officials. 



The source did not identify the sergeant, but said that he worked at PSA 7 on Melrose Avenue.
