CB15 calls for elevator at Sheepshead Bay station

Community leaders in Sheepshead Bay are demanding the MTA install an elevator at the B and Q station there to make it more accessible.

They say the community is aging and has many senior citizens, and the lack of an elevator makes it hard for them to access the train.

And the chairwoman of Community Board 15 says the train ought to be accessible to people with disabilities.

But the plan does have some critics.

Some residents say the narrow station does not have much room to accommodate an elevator.
