Fundraiser highlights works of female 'resistance' artists

A pop-up shop in Greenpoint highlighted the works of female artists who are expressing what "resistance" means to them through a one-night-only fundraiser Thursday.

The We Are the Resistance fundraiser allowed artists to showcase their ideas of humor, rebellion, rage, peace and love using media such as clothing and jewelry.

Artist and show co-host Susan Alexandra says she was inspired to create hand-carved stone fists of resistance necklaces after participating in the Women's March.

A percentage of sales will be going toward charity.
