2 Verizon Wireless employees pistol whipped during attempted robbery in Crown Heights

Two Verizon Wireless store employees were pistol whipped after a man attempted to rob them in Crown Heights, police say. 



The incident happened Tuesday inside the Verizon Wireless store on Franklin Avenue around 11 a.m.



Police say a man wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and black ski mask walked into the store with a gun and demanded merchandise.



After the employees refused, police say the suspect pistol whipped them before running away.



A 31-year-old and a 54-year-old were transported to Coney Island Hospital in stable condition.
