Bed-Stuy expo spotlights black business owners

An expo was held in Bedford-Stuyvesant Sunday to empower and connect black business owners looking to take their business to the next level.

More than 20 business owners including, chefs, authors and jewelry makers were in the community center of the College of New Rochelle to showcase their talents and network with one another.

Some business owners work on their companies on the side, in their off-time from their regular day job. Others say they have transitioned to their companies being their full time job.

Business owners told News 12 that events like this are necessary to let the community show support for small businesses.
