Synagogues in the Brooklyn are on alert after threats were made to several Jewish community centers in New York and New Jersey.

Threats were made at Jewish community centers in Tarrytown, Plainview, Cherry Hill and Staten Island.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo released a statement regarding the incidents.

"Make no mistake--these reprehensible and cowardly acts are not limited to the Jewish community," Cuomo said. "They are assaults on all New Yorkers and I vow that we will do everything in our power to catch those responsible for the wave of hate crimes."
