2 Brooklyn schools face off in Black History Month ‘Jeopardy’

Brooklyn students faced off in a friendly competition of Black History Month Jeopardy on Monday with some NYPD officers playing the role of Alex Trebek.

Students from IS 323 in Brownsville and IS 262 in Bedford-Stuyvesant battled it out to try and win the Black History Month edition of the popular television game show.

Officer Melissa Hernandez got the tough job of keeping score and she said that she was surprised that the eighth-grade students knew some of the answers.

"This is our way of bringing down crime through crime prevention, by changing the minds and the lives of these kids by making them think positive," says assistant chief Jeffrey Maddrey.
