A medical examiner has ruled a 78-year-old East Flatbush woman's death a homicide.

Edna Pierre-Jacques was found Monday night inside the bedroom of her Troy Avenue home with head trauma, according to investigators.

Police say a broken hammer was also found near her body.

The medical examiner says it appears she may have been strangled.

Three family members were questioned by police, but have since been released.

Police say no one has been charged, and they are still investigating.
