Bomb threat evacuates Midwood High School
A bomb threat Tuesday forced hundreds of students to evacuate Midwood High School.
Parents tell News 12 that the threat was called in to the school around 11 a.m. Students were sent to nearby Brooklyn College while authorities combed the building.
Police gave the all-clear around 1 p.m., and students and faculty were allowed back inside.
"Students and staff are safe," a Department of Education spokesperson said in a statement. "The threat was immediately reported to the NYPD, and after a search was conducted, the building was cleared for re-entry."
No arrests have been made.
The school threat comes amid a recent wave a threats against Jewish community centers in the area and around the country.
