Police seek 2 suspects in armed robbery of Brownsville deli

Police are asking for help identifying suspects who robbed a Brownsville deli Wednesday at gunpoint.

Officials say two armed men were seen entering the Sutter Express Deli on Sutter Avenue around 4:50 p.m.

The cashier on duty told News 12 that when the suspects first entered, they pretended to be shopping for items.

He says one of the suspects grabbed a fellow deli employee by the ankles and dragged him from the ATM to the corner of the store.

Surveillance footage shows that the second suspect approached the cashier with his weapon drawn, demanding cash be handed over.

Both suspects were wearing hats and masks to cover their faces, at least for part of their time in the store.

The cashier says he handed over $550 to the men.

Police say the two suspects are in their late teens and have similar builds. Both are around 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh about 150 pounds.

They were last seen around 5 p.m. fleeing the scene south on Van Dyke Street.
