Power restored on Montague St. after water main break

Con Edison has restored power to 162 Montague St. in Brooklyn Heights, which has been in the dark due to a water main break on Thursday.

A worker on scene told News 12 that it is believed that emergency workers inadvertently damaged an electrical cable as they repaired the water main.

At some point, crews will have to dig up the road again to install a new cable. For the time-being, they are running a cable above ground to provide temporary electricity to the location.

The water main break on Thursday flooded the area and closed down the street for over a day.
