Liquor authority fixes 1 a.m. last call for Barclays Center
The New York State Liquor Authority ruled yesterday the Barclays Center can serve patrons alcohol until 1 a.m., a time many residents say is a good compromise.
Residents who live around the venue had argued against serving alcohol hours past midnight for fear of drunken fans and concertgoers pouring out onto the streets. Barclays Center officials worried an early last call would keep big events away from the venue.
The official ruling states 1 a.m. as the cutoff time or one hour after events end, whichever is first.
For Nets games though, the Barclays Center will stop serving alcohol after the third quarter.
