New Windsor Terrace Walgreens has neighbors up in arms
Residents in Windsor Terrace have been fighting to keep a grocery store in their community for months after Walgreens announced it was replacing a Key Food grocery store. The chain pharmacy has reportedly told residents it will carry fresh produce when it opens in Windsor Terrace this winter, but that hasn't allayed residents' concerns. Neighbors say the Key Food store they are losing was the only full-fledged grocery store in their community, until it closed this summer after 35 years in business. Now, the nearest grocery store is more than a mile away. Some residents have pledged to boycott the Walgreens when it opens unless substantial fresh produce is offered.
