Police arrest suspect in stolen Midwood menorah case

Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a menorah robbery in Midwood last week.

Denis Ildatov allegedly broke into the East Fifth Street home of a rabbi and stole a treasured menorah. According to officials, Ildatov admitted not only to stealing the menorah but also to two other thefts over the past month.

Police say Ildatov sold the menorah at a Borough Park silver store for more than $3,000.

The 25-year-old is now being charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property in each of the three incidents.
