BK cancer survivor races through Yankee Stadium
A Prospect Park native celebrated three years of being cancer free by taking part in a 5K run at the home of his favorite baseball team.
Gary Philip was among the more than 4,000 runners who raced through Yankee Stadium Sunday as part of the Damon Runyon 5K, which raised money for cancer research and awareness.
Philip was first diagnosed in Sept. 2003 with a rare form of cancer in his thymus gland, but after years of treatment, he was finally declared cancer free in 2009.
