Crews get to bottom of Bay Ridge sinkhole
Crews are continuing to work on the massive sinkhole that opened Wednesday in Bay Ridge. The hole is 20-feet deep and stretches almost the entire width of 79th Street. Officials with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) say contractors have dug down into the sewer line, which is believed to have caused the sinkhole. They plan on removing part of the sewer main and replacing it with a new one. To watch Chopper 12 footage over the sinkhole, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
