Officials get troubled Brownsville kids back on track
The Brooklyn district attorney's office is working to find new ways to keep children in Brownsville off the streets and prevent them from joining gangs.
Officials say the "Back on Track Program" targets at-risk youth who are not attending school. The program is looking to step up its efforts after 43 accused gang members were taken off the streets in "Operation Tidal Wave" last month.
The district attorney's office says it is bringing young people into its downtown office and working with them on ways to improve the community.
