Prospect Park advocates are calling for a cleanup after dozens of rotten trees were cut down and left behind.

Advocate Ed Bahlman says the debris of 60 rotten trees are not safe for wildlife or fishing.

The Prospect Park Alliance say some branches were left in the lake to provide shelter for birds, frogs, turtles and fish. A spokesperson for the PPA says all trees have to be chipped because Brooklyn is in the Asian Long-horned beetle quarantine zone, which calls for all wood to be burned or chipped before it can be removed from the area.
