Christ the King falls in nationally televised game

Christ the King couldn't defend its back-to-back CHSAA championship wins when it hit the court against California's Mater Dei High School.

The varsity basketball teams faced off in a nationally televised showcase game. Brooklyn native Omar Calhoun tried to keep his team above water, but they fell behind in the second half.

The Royals returned to Queens with an 88-50 point loss.
