Volunteers worked all weekend to help revitalize the Paul Robeson Theater in Fort Greene. The building that houses the theater, which was built in 1864, fell on hard times and has been closed for years.

Volunteers help rebuild historic Fort Greene theater
Volunteers worked all weekend to help revitalize the Paul Robeson Theater in Fort Greene.
The building that houses the theater, which was built in 1864, fell on hard times and has been closed for years. Volunteers say the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend is the perfect time to gut the theater and help make it what it once was.
The volunteers say rebuilding the theater is a perfect way to honor the work of King and Robeson.
