Officials: Woman shot near P.S. 384 in Bushwick; suspect arrested

Officials say a pregnant woman was wounded in a shooting today outside P.S. 384 in Bushwick, where her children attended school. According to Department of Education officials, the woman was shot in the chest by her ex-husband. She was rushed to Kings County Hospital and the suspect was arrested. School officials say the shooting happened close to dismissal time. They say that students were released from the building in grade order and were let out on Moffat Street, away from where the shooting occurred. No students were injured, officials say. The woman's identity has not been confirmed, but DOE officials say she was conscious when taken from the scene.
