Residents tour businesses to support industrial preservation

Residents joined members of the City Council on a tour of Brooklyn's industrial zones today, in an effort to show support for the preservation of the borough's industrial areas.

At the Architectural Grille factory in Gowanus, employees say jobs are at stake if businesses are closed to make way for residential construction.

"You kill the commercial, then you're killing the poor employees that depend on the commercial property here in Brooklyn," said worker Anthony Giumenta.
