NYPD shooting suspect arrested in Bushwick apt.
The man suspected of shooting NYPD officer Kevin Brennan last night was arrested at his uncle's Bushwick apartment. Luis Ortiz, 21, was taken into custody after hiding on the fifth floor of 390 Bushwick Ave. Police say the gun found outside the residence was the same weapon used in the shooting. Officials say they approached Ortiz when responding to a report of shots fired, prompting him to flee the scene. Police say the suspect has a long criminal history, and has been arrested on several drug-related charges. Ortiz is also wanted for questioning in an East Williamsbridge murder on New Year's Eve.
