Report: Synthetic marijuana making more young people sick

Synthetic drugs with dangerous side effects are sending more kids and teenagers to the emergency room, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In a new report, doctors said that synthetic marijuana, which is a mix of dried plant leaves and chemicals similar to those in THC, the active ingredient in cannabis, can cause hallucinations, elevated blood pressure, rapid heart rates and unconsciousness.
According to the study, some users experienced seizures, numbness and temporarily lost the ability to speak.
Most synthetic marijuana products, such as K-2 and Spice, come with no warning label, instructions or even an ingredients list, and they can be legally purchased in any bodega or gas station.
Doctors say they do not know yet what the long-term effects of using synthetic marijuana are because there isn't enough medical information available on it.
