NYC terror suspect pleads not guilty
A Muslim convert accused of trying to attack police officers, soldiers and other government targets in New York City pleaded not guilty to terror charges today.
The indictment claims that 27-year-old Jose Pimentel, a suspected al-Qaida sympathizer, searched bomb-making on the Internet, shopped for supplies and started to assemble a pipe bomb before his arrest in November 2011.
Pimentel's attorney says jurors will see the case for what it really is once they hear how the NYPD used a self-serving informant to take advantage of his client.
Pimentel faces multiple charges, including weapons possession and conspiracy to commit terror crimes.
