BK residents honor slain rapper Biggie Smalls
Residents across the borough are reflecting on the life of rapper Biggie Smalls, whose life was cut short 15 years ago today. Smalls, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. He was born in Brooklyn, and a two-story mural on Fulton Street commemorates his life. "I thought he captured something that represented Brooklyn so well, and I just wanted to put it out there," says Sean Meenan, who commissioned the artist for the job.
