Brighton Beach woman warned to get rid of cats
A Brighton Beach woman accused of animal hoarding has been warned to give up her cats or risk getting kicked out of her home.
Barbara Berger has more than 20 cats, many of which she says were rescued from off the streets. But now her landlord says she has until next week to reduce that number to two after neighbors began complaining of an awful smell.
The Brooklyn Rescue Umbrella has already taken several of the cats. The group is giving them medical care and helping find them new homes.
